According to UNICEF’s latest statistics, there are more than 163 million orphans in the world.  Not all of them are legally free for adoption, even if enough parents could be found for them.  So, adoption is not the only option to caring for many, many at-risk children and youth.  By most estimates, the number of vulnerable children in the world is nearly one-half BILLION, if we include the hundreds of thousands of children living on the streets, or atop dumps, or enslaved in brothels.

Organizations such as Compassion International, Free for Life International, World Vision and Half the Sky, as well as many others, have stepped into the gap to provide loving, practical care for these who are not in a position to be placed into adoptive families.  Their work involves everything from providing for basic needs such as food, clothing & medical care to education, life-skills training and counseling for trauma.  They are involved in local orphanages, foster homes and communities to improve the lives of vulnerable children worldwide.  You could have the privilege of providing anything from a simple pillow or mosquito net to complete monthly care and education for a child in need for less than the price of a cup of coffee or a milkshake per day.  Through Warm Blankets Orphan Care International, your company could provide COMPLETE care for an entire orphan home housing up to 15 children and caregivers for as little as little as $1500 per month.

Love Without Boundaries  is a worldwide group of volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned and impoverished children in China. They provide humanitarian aid in the following areas – Education, Foster Care, Healing Homes, Medical, and Orphanage Assistance – enabling children to receive families through adoption or to become self-sustaining members of their communities.

Amazima Ministries International  operates a sponsorship program in Uganda, Africa for 400 orphaned children. These children are provided an education, school supplies, 3 meals a day, and medical care. AMAZIMA Ministries also runs a feeding program provided to the extremely poor & outcast Karamojong people of the Masese community as well as providing basic medical care, spiritual encouragement and general health training. 

Sweet Sleep’s provision of mosquito nets to orphanages is literally life-changing to children who live in fear of death by malaria. With your help, we are able to get sweet orphaned and abandoned children around the world into healthy, comfortable new Sweet Sleep beds. 

Drawn From Water There is a tribe in a Africa that has a culture rich in tradition but lives in fear of evil spirits who they believe bring ill fortune to their villages. They use the word "Mingi" to describe persons they consider cursed or otherwise imperfect. They believe the presence of these "mingi" children on their land curses the tribe. Their solution to this perceived threat is to kill all children deemed Mingi.  DRAWN FROM WATER is committed to rescuing and providing the best possible future for children who have been sentenced to death by their tribes.
