First retailer also includes widget available to 40,000 Yahoo e-commerce storefronts
NASHVILLE -- RetailROI, the Retail Orphan Initiative, today announced that Due Maternity is launching a “Roundup for Orphans” campaign that allows consumers to round up the dollar amount of their purchase as a donation to RetailROI when checking out. Due Maternity plans to roll out this feature in its e-commerce site next month. The company also announced a direct corporate donation to become a “Proud Sponsor of the Retail Orphan Initiative,” which allows the company to use the RetailROI logo for a period of one year in marketing communications.
“We saw a powerful presentation on RetailROI while attending the RetailConnections Summit and realized that we had the ideal customer base to support RetailROI,” said Albert DiPadova, vice president, Due Maternity. “The moms who shop at Due Maternity are very sensitive to the needs of children. Supporting kids through RetailROI is a great way for moms to share their joy at this time of life, so we decided to support RetailROI by making it easy for our customers to get involved.”
Due Maternity is working with Don Cole from YourStoreWizards.com, a developer for Yahoo eCommerce, to incorporate a custom feature supporting RetailROI on the Due Maternity store front. When checking out, shoppers can opt to round up the dollar amount of the purchase or add a fixed dollar amount, and the additional amount will be donated to RetailROI. YourStoreWizards.com is making this feature available to all 40,000 Yahoo e-commerce storefronts as a means to support charities. Store owners who want to install the feature and help out Retail ROI can find it at http://www.yourstorewizards.com/retail-roi.html.
“RetailROI is profoundly grateful to Albert and his team for their generosity and vision, which will make it possible to support our charitable work with every single transaction,” said Greg Buzek, president and founder, IHL Group, and co-founder of RetailROI. “We also appreciate the strong technical support from Yahoo – they’re an e-commerce company with a heart. Every $1,000 raised rescues a child from the streets, and this will help a great deal of kids.”
