Retail Executives, Analysts and Technology Vendors Join Forces for Orphan Care at Retail Orphan Initiative's NRF SuperSaturday on Jan. 14

Nearly 200 C-level retail executives will join the industry's top retail CIOs, analysts and technology vendors at RetailROI's annual "SuperSaturday" research event in New York on Jan. 14, 2012, one day before the annual NRF Convention and Expo begins. SuperSaturday is a fundraiser for RetailROI, the Retail Orphan Initiative, bringing together retail's most prominent thinkers for revealing discussions on the convergence of Marketing and IT, store technologies, social media success stories, mobile devices (associate and consumer), next generation analytics and how companies can move from marketing brands to true competitive strength. The one-of-a-kind event is free to retailers, and all proceeds from sponsorships directly benefit organizations involved in orphan care, adoption support and foster care. SuperSaturday 2012 takes place at PwC Auditorium, 300 Madison Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and retailers can register here.

Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute Honors Retail Orphan Initiative Co-Founder Greg Buzek with National Award 

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) honored IHL president and Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI) co-founder Greg Buzek with the first annual Paul Singer Award at the 13th Annual Angels in Adoption™ Congressional gala. The award was presented in a ceremony on October 5, 2011 in Washington, D.C. In addition to the Paul Singer Award, the Congressional gala also honored this year’s National Angels in Adoption winners, who were awarded for their work on behalf of children nationally. They include Academy Award-nominated actress Nia Vardalos, NFL linebacker Scott Fujita, and Emmy Award-nominated television program Freddie Mac Foundation’s "Wednesday’s Child.' In addition, the national winners were joined by more than 40 other members of Congress in personally presenting awards to 140 "Angel" families throughout the country.

RetailROI Announces Charity Database for Local Donations of Unsold Merchandise

Nashville, TN - July 12, 2011 - Retailers in the U.S. have over $65 Billion worth of inventory annually in an overstocked position, causing a drain on profits and taking time and focus from personnel. The Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI) announced today the launch of an online charity locator to match up retailers looking to donate overstocked merchandise with local charities, thus receiving a potential tax deduction for items that were not going to be selling at a profit. The charity locator features an interactive map of nearby charities from a RetailROI-developed database of 501c3 organizations across the country that focus on at-risk children, women in distress, or families in need. The charity locator includes the top 125 cities and top 300 largest malls in the U.S., with information on types of items each charity accepts, including clothing, food, furniture, building materials and educational materials.

Retail Orphan Initiative Announces Computer Recycling Program for Retailers

The Retail Orphan Initiative, (RetailROI) announced today a new partnership with the GEAR Foundation for computer recycling when retailer’s computers come off warranty and are less than 4 years old. The program will immediately create jobs for physically and mentally challenged young adults as the computers are erased, refurbished, and resold in the program.

RPE Supports the Retail Orphan Initiative with Charity Tie-in at NRF 

At the recent National Retail Federation (NRF) Annual Conference and Expo, RPE associates encouraged others to join them in supporting the Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI). RPE provided free bottled water at stations throughout the tradeshow and encouraged everyone who enjoyed the water to make a $1 donation at the RPE booth. RPE matched each dollar donated for a total contribution of $1,500 to support clean water project worldwide. RPE, a leading retail consulting firm, is a partner level sponsor of the Retail Orphan Initiative, a non-profit charitable foundation established to help the 400 million orphaned and vulnerable children worldwide.

NASHVILLE - Jan. 26, 2011 - Approximately 200 C-level retail executives, vendors and retail industry influencers came together for RetailROI's "Super Saturday" research event in New York on Jan. 8, 2011, raising nearly $300,000 for orphan care.

Super Saturday, held the day before the annual NRF Show, brought together retail's most prominent thinkers for a day of predictions, insight and analysis.
